1. IDENTIFYING AND INVENTING PATTERNS

State Goal for Learning: Understand and use methods of data collections and analysis, including tables, charts and comparisons.

PreKindergarten Outcomes: Identify and invent patterns.

Activity: Students will create patterns using unifix cubes. Students later copy the patterns they created onto sentence strips and "read" them to the teacher.

Materials: Unifix cubes, crayons, sentence strips

Assessment: The teacher visually checks the pattern and then has the child "read" the pattern and match it to his/her illustration.
