ALL application materials required to apply to the Department of Counselor Education MUST be submitted by the deadline date for the term applying. The deadline dates are as follows:

Fall Semester: March 15
Spring Semester: August 15

	Graduate College Application NOTE: The Self-Recommendation Letter found on page 2 of the Counselor Education Application substitutes for the Statement of Goals found on the Graduate College application.
	Letter of Recommendation Form (print out 2 copies for 2 different references) NOTE: The Counselor Education letter of recommendation form substitutes for the graduate college recommendation letter forms found on the Graduate College application
	Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
	Copy of current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) (for applicants to School Counseling WITH Illinois Teacher License)
	Evidence of taking and passing the basic skills requirement for the State of Illinois. There are three options: Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP); ACT plus Writing; or SAT (for applicants to School Counseling WITH OR WITHOUT Illinois Teacher License)
	Fingerprint Background Check (for applicants to School Counseling WITHOUT Illinois Teacher License)
