*Please note: For those who do not hold a current, valid Illinois teaching certificate, additional requirements besides those stated above must be satisfied, including showing evidence of taking and passing a background check and taking and passing the Basic Skills Test prior to admission.  In addition, applicants who do not hold a teaching certificate must complete the following courses prior to practicum:  ELAD-EDFN 405, 406, 407, and SPED 404.  Course descriptions can be found in the university catalogue in print form or on NEIU's website.

To register for ELAD-EDFN 407, you will need to contact Dona Wisniewski at D-Wisniewski@neiu.edu for clearance.  Please provide your name, student ID#, and the reference # and section # for the 407 course that you would like to register for. 

 

Students who wish to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and sit for the NCE exam should take COUN 420, 425, & 427 as their three elective courses.
