DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY
POSITION: One full-time, tenure track assistant professor position in the Department of Computer Science beginning Sept. 2013.
SALARY: Based on qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field. Candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching and ongoing scholarly activity. We are looking for candidates from the following areas: business intelligence, data analytics, informatics, software engineering, and emerging technologies. Strong candidates in other areas will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching a wide range of graduate and undergraduate courses in a Department that offers B.S. and M.S. degrees. Participating in Departmental and University activities, as well as continuing scholarly work, is expected.

The Department includes eight faculty members, 400+ undergraduate majors and 100+ graduate students. The Department is undergoing a major transformation with curricular revision and multiple new hires in the past two years. Major areas of research include human computer interaction, artificial intelligence, machine learning, swarm intelligence, and computer theory.
