CMTC 202: Voice and Diction (TR 5:40-6:55)


Jeff Wade is a lifelong Chicago-area resident and Adjunct Instructor in the Communication, Media, and Theatre Department at Northeastern Illinois University. He has taught Introduction to Communication, Voice & Diction, and Foundations of Communication.


A classical violinist by training, Jeff also has an extensive acting resume. He has performed the lead in Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at the Stage Center Theater at Northeastern Illinois University. His other Stage Center credits include A Tale of Two Cities (2010), Around the World in 80 Days (2010), and Bleacher Bums (2011). He has also performed in Infamous Commonwealth Theatre’s 24-Hour Project (2007), Halcyon Theatre’s Trifles (2008), and Silver Lining Production’s Someone’s Knocking (2011) at Gorilla Tango Theatre.


As voice talent, Jeff has recorded everything from commercials and audio versions of children’s books to industrial training films. He has also worked for many independent filmmakers, recording voice-overs for films and instructional videos. He has a background in radio, having worked at National Public Radio affiliate stations (WIUM in Macomb, Illinois and WVIK in Rock Island, Illinois) and at several commercial stations in Western Illinois.
