Angela (Angie) Sweigart-Gallagher teaches both practice based and historical/theoretical courses in theatre and is directing in the 2012-2013 Stage Center season. Angie’s research and current creative work, The Wandering Uterus Project, focuses on the intersections of politics and performance. Her research on the Federal Theatre Project has appeared in SETC’s Theatre Symposium and The Journal of American Drama and Theatre. She is currently developing an edited volume of essays examining youth and nationalism in theatre and performance. Angie is the Education Director of Endstation Theatre Company (Amherst, VA) where she spends her summers overseeing college level interns and devises original productions with high school students as part the Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists (BLUR), a collaboration between Endstation and Sweet Briar College. She earned her MA and PhD in Theatre Research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her BA in Theatre and English from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, VA.
