CMTM 265: Mass Media and Society (TR 12:15-1:30pm)


Katrina Bell-Jordan teaches in the areas of media culture (specifically media theory and criticism), news writing/journalism, as well as rhetorical theory and criticism, persuasion and public address.  Her research areas include race and representation in media, Black popular culture, identity politics and comedic performance. She earned a B.S.J. from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, along with a M.A. in Interpersonal Communication.  She has written for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the New York Daily News, and she has published in Critical Studies in Media Communication, Women’s Studies in Communication and Performance Studies. She is on the editorial board of Women’s Studies in Communication andCritical Studies in Media Communication
