The Learning Center

The Learning Center provides tutoring in the General Education courses. The tutors are selected based on their academic success and knowledge in the discipline. They are juniors, seniors, or graduate students, majoring in the field in which they tutor. Tutors are given training throughout the year to ensure that tutoring techniques are understood and that they can articulate and share the study system that has helped them succeed. Assistance is also given to students in developing time management, motivation and study skills.  Sessions are individual and group reviews are given prior to exams.   Workshops are also given dealing with study strategies.

The Learning Center encourages individuals who receive tutoring to evaluate the service received and tell us how we might better assist students with academic success.

Scheduling of appointments with the tutors is strongly encouraged.
