MLS Soccer
Major League Soccer (MLS) is the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada with 14 teams, 13 in the U.S. and one in Canada. MLS represents the top tier of the American and Canadian soccer leagues.
MLS was founded in 1993 as part of the bid for the United States to host the 1994 FIFA World Cup. The first season took place in 1996, and the league began with 10 teams. Seasons run from late March or early April to November, with teams playing about 30 regular season games each.
