The cultural outreach and programming of the Pedroso Center will be strengthened by collaborating  with the Office of Student Affairs. As the main hub of co-curricular cultural activities for students and an entry point into a life of active cultural awareness, Student Activities is a natural affiliate for the work of the Pedroso Center.

The Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs also serves as an umbrella organization connecting many of NEIU’s existing cultural programs and resources together in new ways. Academic programs associated to the Pedroso Center include the following programs of study: Latino and Latin American Studies (LLAS), African and African American Studies, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Global Studies, TESL/TEFL, and Women’s Studies. Other programs associated with the Pedroso Center will include Proyecto Pa’lante, Project Success, Adult and Women Student Programs, and the campuses of the Caruthers Center for Inner City Studies and El Centro.

The Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs works toward the common cultural goals these diverse programs share. By coordinating these efforts to be more focused and integrated across the University, we support and celebrate the diversity and complexities of individual identities within Northeastern Illinois University.
