Welcome to the Northeastern University
Pre-Law Virtual Advising

This site aims to provide NEIU students and alumni, as well as prospective students and others considering law school, comprehensive, timely information and advice about all phases of the law school application process—starting, in fact, with whether law school is right for you.

How to Use This Site

The NEIU Pre-Law Advising Site is organized around seven questions that serve as topic areas. Simply click on the question you have, and you will find at least one and often multiple documents on that subject. For a general introduction to the information contained on this Site, take a look at the Overview of Contents.

Regardless of your status as a student or graduate, or of your level of determination about pursuing a legal career, it is highly recommended that you read the materials for Question 1: Should I Go To Law School? A legal career is not for everyone, and you should seriously reflect on whether you want a law degree, what you plan to do with it, and what you are willing to sacrifice to earn it. As you navigate this Site, you will find an overriding message: the Pre-Law Advising Site will not encourage you to go to law school or discourage you from going to law school. Only you can decide what is right for you. Instead, the Pre-Law Advising seeks to equip you with necessary information to help you make an INFORMED DECISION about law school and a legal career.
