Welcome
to the College of Business and Management at Northeastern Illinois
University. We prepare students for successful careers in a global
economy and are committed to providing high quality, accessible
business education in a personalized, small-class environment to our
diverse student population. I truly believe that learning at
Northeastern Illinois University will help you to go on to lead in
the world.
I am extremely proud of some of our recent accomplishments in
support of the mission of the College of Business and Management,
and I would like to share them with you. We have worked to enhance
academic program quality, acquire more financial resources, and
utilize those resources strategically.
I
have highlighted a few of our accomplishments:

-
The College of Business and Management relocated to a newly
renovated, 37,000 square feet, high quality, state-of-the-art
facility on the NEIU main campus. With five high-tech
classrooms, a skylight-lit student-centered gathering area,
multiple meeting and conference rooms, a dedicated advising
office, a new computer lab, and Wi-Fi throughout, this space
housing COBM faculty, staff, and graduate tutors provides
students with the latest in collaborative learning environments
while maximizing student-faculty interaction.
-
The College also received a $2.5 million Title V federal grant
to promote post-baccalaureate opportunities for Hispanic
Americans, as well as for low-income and other underrepresented
groups, in the college's graduate business programs. This grant
allows us to improve access for underserved students to our
Master's of Science in Accounting and Master's in Business
Administration programs. We have increased the number of full
scholarships for eligible students, hired new faculty, and
enhanced online offerings for graduate students. Additionally,
among other initiatives, students will collaborate with faculty
on research projects and present those findings at national
conferences; scholarships for CPA review exams will also be
available.
-
Finally, our annual International Business Conference continues
to grow each year and attracts over 2,000 participants. Every
year the on-campus conference focuses on doing business in a
different region of the globe. Recent IBCs focused on Latin
America, Africa, and Eastern and Central Europe. The next IBC
focus will be on doing business in East Asia.

These are just some of the ways in which we facilitate our
students’ success. I would like to thank the faculty, students and
staff who work hard to support our mission every day, and I look
forward to reporting further successes in better serving our
students over the coming academic year.
I invite you to participate in our journey and to...
