Online Collaboration Rubric


The scoring can be simplified when many student postings have to be evaluated.
  In that case, each criterion may only be rated on a “plus” or “minus” (0 or 1) basis.

Makes reference to the readings

No or vague reference made to readings

Readings mentioned once clearly

Readings mentioned clearly and prominently more than once

Relates new content to prior knowledge (work experience, prior coursework, readings, etc.)

(Virtually) no reference is made to prior knowledge

Obvious connection between prior knowledge and new content is made

Thoughtfully provides and integrates into discussion the connection between new content and prior knowledge

Critically analyzes the content – not just a summary of the readings

No analysis beyond a mere summary of the readings

Brief analysis that goes beyond a summary of the readings

Critical analysis supported with factual evidence or theory

Responses to Other Student Postings

Makes reference to other postings

No incorporation of ideas from other postings

Previous posting/s mentioned once explicitly

GRAND TOTAL:

Lowest-possible score is 0, highest is 21.  Eighty percent (i.e. 16 points) of the maximum score constitutes mastery level.
