The
College of Business and Management prepares students for successful
careers in business and for further study at the graduate level.
The College offers the Bachelor of Science degree with majors
in Accounting, Finance, General Business Administration, Management
and Marketing; the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree;
and the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). Minors are also
available for undergraduates in Accounting, Finance, International
Business, Management, and Marketing.
An
international focus on business is a key element of the College
curriculum. We offer course work in International Business, International
Accounting, International Finance, International Management,
and International Marketing, supplemented by opportunities for
study abroad in countries such as France, Mexico, and India,
this year's featured destination.
In
keeping with the cultural diversity that is a hallmark of Northeastern
Illinois University, College of Business and Management faculty
have come to the university from all corners of the globe, including
China, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Korea,
Nigeria, Taiwan, and of course the U.S.A. They bring an eclectic
world-view to the classroom that is unique among Chicago-area
universities.

A New
Building:
The
College of Business and Management has moved up into the
mainstream of the campus with the remodelling of the old A
Wing into a new home for the College staff and faculty
offices, and the addition of new classrooms with advanced
technology for use by the entire University.

A New Dean:
Dr Amy
Hietapelto officially began an appointment as the new
dean of the College of Business and Management on July 1,
2009.

New Faculty
and Administrators:

Title V Grant
awarded to the College.
This grant
will provide
some opportunities to develop our graduate programs as a way of
increasing graduate study opportunities for the minority
students, available because we are a Hispanic Serving
Institution.
