LINEDRILL

You need a Java enabled browser to run this program.

INSTRUCTIONS
Objective:
A red line is drawn on a set of axes. The axes are not labeled with a scale but you can assume that as usual the x-axis is the horizontal axis with positive values to the right and the y-axis is the vertical axis with positive value s above the x-axis. You are to decide whether the drawn line has a positive, negative or zero slope and a positive, negative or zero y-intercept. If you understand the concept you should be able to make this decision quickly and accura tely. You are scored on "efficiency" which is calculated using the percentage correct and the amount of time taken. You should strive for a score of 100 or better.

To Start
Click the right mouse button over the button "NEXT".

To give your answer
Click the appropriate radio button for the slope and for the intercept. If the button is already set correctly you do not need to click it. When both buttons are set to your choices click the button marked "O.K." If your answer is "WRONG" you may r eset the buttons and click "O.K." again, perhaps several times untill you get the correct response. Note that all attempts after the first will not be scored, however the time is not running either.

For the next line
Click "NEXT". Note that time is only running when the blue "O.K.?" is showing.

To reset the time and counters to zero
Do <SHIFT>-"RELOAD" on your Netscape browser or <CTRL>-"REFRESH" on your Microsoft Explorer or AOL browser.

To exit
Close this browser window.
