The real technology -- behind all our other technologies -- is language. It actually creates
the world our consciousness lives in. (Andrei Codrescu)

R Thoughts, 2003

As a future teacher, I advocate a wholistic approach to learning (whole to part). I believe that phonics have real value, but simply cannot stand on their own.

I am also a big fan of Vygotsky. The idea of assisted learning and creating motivating environments where children are encouraged to explore appeals to me. I have had one too many teachers that have simply stood in front of me and preached. To me that not teaching. Teaching involves engagement!

And lastly, I think current technology has a rightful place in education.
I am confident in my abilities to infuse it into my curriculum. Embrace technology with curiosity and passion and assimilate it into your livelihood. Strive to explore, make mistakes and learn. Love the "lap"
in your life,
be your own generation!
