We are off to an exciting new semester full of potential. We'd love to hear from you and share your summer adventures on this site. What did you do over summer? Trek in Colombia? Fieldwork in Greece? Slept late in Niles? You can send your descriptions to Lesa at: lcdavis@neiu.edu.

Fall 2009:
Tracy Luedke is working with an Art colleague to develop a student study tour trip to GHANA for summer 2010. More on this and other exciting summer opportunities as they develop – Jon Hageman has been asked to help design a proposal for a Latino and Latin American Studies major at NEIU – Lesa Davis is researching night monkey skeletal adaptations during her sabbatical and will return to teaching and coordinating in January – The NEIU Honors Program is thrilled that Holly Dunsworth has agreed to serve on their Curriculum and Standards Board.
Summer 2009:
Where in the world...? Jon Hageman took another group of students to Belize for the month-long Archaeological Field School... Tracy Luedke is spending 8 weeks in the field in Mozambique... Holly Dunsworth is spending half of her summer doing fieldwork on Rusinga Island in Kenya... Russell Zanca just left to do fieldwork in Uzbekistan for several weeks... Lesa Davis is holding down the fort during her colleagues' absences.
August 2008:
The Department of Anthropology has Moved!!!!
NEIU Anthropology has moved operations to the first floor of the Science Building. This move is part of a series of NEIU program and faculty office moves being made to make room for growing departments (including ours!) and to locate departmental members closer together.
Administratively, Anthropology will remain in the combined department with Philosophy and Linguistics, although these programs will remain in the Classroom Building, more or less in their current locations. Dr. Lawrence Berlin serves as Chair of the combined department. His office is in LWH 3063.
Our new offices are:
Lesa Davis (biological anthropology, Coordinator) SCI 146
Holly Dunsworth (biological anthropology) SCI 140
Jon Hageman (archaeology) SCI 136
Tracy Luedke (cultural anthropology) SCI 138
Russell Zanca (cultural anthropology) SCI 142
Martin Giesso SCI 218g
Main Anthropology Office (John Baumgardner) SCI 134
