Academic Development
Academic Development provides access to higher educational opportunities to a diverse body of students; assist students to make successful transitions to and within the university community; and assist with the retention and graduation of students through the delivery of quality advisement, academic courses and instructional support, student engagement opportunities, and enriching cultural programs. Academic Development is comprised of the following areas: Academic Advisement Center, Academic Literacy Development Program (English Language Program [ELP] and Reading Development Program), Accessibility Center, Assessment and Testing Center, Learning Center, Mathematics Development, Special Programs (Project Success and Proyecto Pa’Lante), and Summer Transition Program (STP). Academic Development also coordinates a series of annual Heritage Conferences. The support services that Academic Development provides are essential to the intellectual, social, and cultural growth of the student.
