Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh Fund on Democracy and Human Rights and an Invitation to the Fund Raising Event on Friday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m.
On the occasion of the upcoming Conference on Iran and Guatemala, "Thwarting Democracy in Iran and Guatemala: What Have We Learned Fifty Years After the U.S. Sponsored Coups? An Exploration (November 13-15, 2003), Northeastern Illinois University in cooperation with Iranian Women's Group of Chicagoland announces the initiation of a drive to establish Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh Leadership Fund on Democracy and Human Rights. This historic Fund will provide for the following educational purposes:

Granting scholarship(s) to a number of undergraduate and/or graduate students at Northeastern Illinois University. These students will be required to become familiar with the democratic ideals and practices of Dr. Mossadegh as one of the conditions for the receipt of scholarship. |

Holding an annual event (e.g., lecture) on Democracy and Human Rights in the name of Dr. Mossadegh. |
To initiate this Drive, a Benefit Dinner will be held on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. This Fund Raising Dinner is hosted by College of Academic Development at Northeastern Illinois University and Iranian Women's Group of Chicagoland. A special night is planned for the honorable guests. A jazz duo will provide music for the event. Specific event information appears below.
