Northeastern Illinois University’s Child Care Center is licensed to care for a maximum of 87 children at a time, ranging in age from 15 months to 6 years.

Enrollment is open on a first-come, first-served basis considering space availability within each particular age group and the ability to match schedules within the following priority groups:

  1. Currently enrolled families
  2. Siblings of currently enrolled families
  3. NEIU students
  4. NEIU faculty and staff
  5. Community members

You will receive a call from the Child Care Center to notify you when there is an opening.

Pre-register your child by completing our pre-registration application and submitting it to c-hidaka@neiu.edu.

Registration Requirements

Toddler Program

The child must be:

  1. 15 to 24 months of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Enrolled for a minimum of five half-days per week

Preschool Program

The child must be:

  1. Two years (24 months) to 5 years of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Thoroughly potty-trained, except children in the Dolphin room. (Should a problem arise, the teacher will make the final decision as to whether the child is to remain in the preschool.)
  3. Any child who is enrolled in the Dolphin Room but has not completed potty training will be charged at the toddler tuition rate.
  4. Enrolled for a minimum of two half-days per week.
