Northeastern Illinois University is a state-assisted university that receives only a portion of its operating budget from state appropriations. The remainder of our budget comes from student tuition, grants, and private contributions. As state appropriations decline, so does the amount of support available to our students.
At NEIU, we believe that all students, regardless of economic circumstances, should have access to higher education. In order to keep our tuition affordable and provide scholarship support to students in need, we rely on contributions from our alumni and friends.
Our faculty is known for their excellence and private support enables us to offer more opportunities for faculty to enhance their teaching capabilities in the classroom, advance their scholarly research, and expand their professional growth. Private support also helps us to upgrade our facilities, technology, and teaching and learning resources, providing cutting edge classroom experience for our students.
You can help our students “Learn in the City,” and “Lead in the World,” by supporting Northeastern Illinois University’s mission of preparing a diverse community of students for leadership and service in our region and our dynamic multicultural world.
