Family Orientation
Family Orientation

Our goal is to involve and support family members by providing helpful information to aid in the success of their student.  Programs such as family orientation provide parents and family members an opportunity to become connected to Northeastern, its community and campus.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the extended Northeastern family.  We can attest that the support of family members is vital to a student's success and we invite you to become an active member of the NEIU community.  Your students' success is a goal shared by us all.

New Students and Family Programs encourages you to get involved with the entire Northeastern campus, especially with the programs listed below as they are intentionally tailored for parents and guardians.

We look forward to getting to know you and working together!

Family Orientation is for families of newly admitted students.  Family orientation emphasizes the support services available, university expectations, a campus tour and much more.  The program is designed to assist you and your family in your transition to Northeastern.

Registration will open approximately one month prior to each orientation session.

A Parent and Family Guide (English or Spanish) has been published which contains useful information about NEIU and helpful tips in supporting your students as they progress toward earning their degrees.

For more information, please visit our Family Orientation page or contact us at (773) 442-5373.

Family Brunch is a complimentary brunch sponsored by NSFP.  This year's brunch will take place on October 25, 2014.  The brunch is designed to reunite parents and reconnect you to the University after your student is in the midst of the semester.  At family brunch we will revisit financial aid, leadership opportunities, career opportunities and any topic you feel is necessary to successfully support your student.

Family Neighboorhood visits are an opportunity for the NSFP department to visit you in your neighborhood throughout the month of November.  This program creates an informal opportunity to further connect with parents and strengthen relationships.  It is also an opportunity to discuss future partnerships and programmatic efforts.

Neighborhood Visits:

November 7th Westside
November 14th Southside
November 21th Northside

NSFP December newsletter is an opportunity for us to showcase and inform our families of important dates, future programs and well wishes for the semesters ending.

Spring initiatives will be announced shortly.
