Single mother of four, Chaelecia struggled with the day to day of work, school, life, and motherhood until she actually learned to ask for help. Sharing her story proved more rewarding than she had ever imagined.

Looking for a way to pay it forward as well as memorialize a husband lost to non Hodgkin's lymphoma, sisters Kim and Maureen created the Mark Zinman Scholarship for Special Education. However, the perfect fit was not without challenges.

Growing up with a burning desire to make a difference in politics, Max begins his long road of education with the help of a scholarship at Northeastern Illinois University.

Finding answers and inspiration in two of NEIU’s classes, graduate students Carrie and Nikki join forces to encourage more safe dialogue about sexual difference by creating the Communicating Sexualities Scholarship.
