Northeastern undergraduate and graduate students presenting their original work at academic conferences can apply for an NEIU Foundation Student Travel Award. These awards are made possible by private contributions to the NEIU Leader Fund and provide funding for major travel expenses such as airfare, hotel/lodging and conference registration. All Northeastern students are eligible to apply. Funding is limited, and the selection process is competitive.
Applications are submitted to the Office of Institutional Advancement by certain annual deadlines and are processed quarterly based on travel dates. Awards are available in amounts up to $600 for domestic travel, and up to $1,000 for international travel. Funds awarded may not be used for local transit, rental car, food, drink or entertainment, including conference-related activities and events. Only one award is available per conference; multiple students attending the same conference may share the award.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Office of Institutional Advancement by the application deadline in order to be considered for funding. Late applications will not be considered.
Applications are accepted quarterly based on travel date:
|Travel Dates||Application Due on or Before|

|November 1 - January 31||September 15|
|February 1 - April 30||December 15|
