The Data Observation Network for Earth (DataONE) is a virtual organization dedicated to providing open, persistent, robust, and secure access to biodiversity and environmental data, supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation. They are offering paid, 9-week internships on a wide range of research projects from May 23rd to July 22nd, 2016. There is no specification for background degree or major for most of the projects:

  2. Semantic Entity Extraction and Linking for Annotation and Ontology Evolution
  3. Developing a Survey Instrument for Evaluation of Teaching Materials
  4. Emerging Research Communities: Fulfilling the Potential of Open Access Earth Science Data
  5. Reproducibility of Script-Based Workflows: A Case Study and Demonstration

The deadline to apply is March 14th, midnight mountain time.
