2013 Chicago Piano Festival
2013 Chicago Piano Festival

Welcome to the 2014 Chicago Piano Festival: August 2-9

A week-long, summer music program specially designed for painists ages 10 through senior in high school, the 3rd annual Chicago Piano Festival offers progressive opportunities in performance technique building and music instruction within the city of Chicago.

The outstanding piano faculty are all part of the music department at Northeastern Illinois University. Daily symposia will include master classes where students will have the chance to perform and receive feedback from faculty, lectures on performance topics, piano literature, and faculty recitals. During the week, students will be working with a group of musicians who share the belief that our most important goal is to encourage the inherent talents of each student.

Each day will be filled with individual lessons on your solo repertoire, coaching for the piano ensembles, practice time, rehearsal time and more. The festival will conclude with a performance on Saturday afternoon where students will all have an opportunity to perform in the beautiful recital hall for family, friends and peers. There will also be opportunities for evening outings to concerts and events throughout Chicago.

We hope you will be able to come spend a week with us at Northeastern Illinois University's Chicago Piano Festival this summer!

What people are saying about the Chicago PIano Festival...

The way I look at playing piano has really changed for the better. I now have more confidence in the way that I practice, and have used the advice provided by NEIU faculty when preparing for concerts and judged events. I look forward to auditioning to come back next year!

This was my first Piano Festival and it was a great experience for me to meet and work with other pianists and four professors. I really enjoyed all the individual instruction from Dr. Kim, Dr. Tang, Mr. Zivin and Dr. Anderson. I hope to be part of the group next summer!

I had such a wonderful time at your camp! I felt that I learned so much between a short period of time!! Its crazy! FOR SURE, I walked out of camp as a better piano player!! Thank you so much Dr. Tang for this wonderful camp!!!
