Jorge Montilla is considered one of the best clarinetists in Latin-America and one of the world’s finest E-flat clarinet players. He will present a program of contemporary repertoire for both Bb and Eb clarinets in collaboration with pianist Kay Kim. The program showcases some of the world's most renowned Latin American composers including: Arturo Marquez, Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Guastavino. Montilla will also perform his own highly acclaimed composition "Registro de Pajarillo". Richly entertaining for all, this program features vibrant rhythms coupled with sultry Latin-American melodies.
This concert is presented collaboration with the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble’s event on April 20th.
