Internships offer the opportunity for graduate students to explore a certain career field as well as offer practical experience in a career-related area. An internship experience will enhance any resume and give the student a distinct advantage in his or her job search. The Office of Student Life offers a variety of internship positions for graduate students.
A Student Life internship at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) provides the opportunity to gain experience with diverse populations on an urban commuter campus:
• Northeastern Illinois University is the only public four-year university in the Midwest federally designated as an Hispanic Serving Institution.
• Northeastern Illinois University is the most ethnically diverse university in the Midwest according to U.S. News and World Report.
Each operation includes measurable outcomes as a means of assessing student learning. All programs are structured following the CAS standards or grounded research findings in Student Development/Higher Education Administration theory.
