Councils and Committees
Student Affairs Council The Student Affairs Council includes the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Dean of Students, the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Student Affairs Directors. It serves as a forum for discussions relating to common concerns and recent developments in the areas reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Student Affairs Assessment Committee The Student Affairs Assessment Committee provides leadership for assessment activities in Student Affairs and serves as an advisory group to the Vice President for Student Affairs on matters relating to the assessment of student learning outcomes.

Student Judicial Hearing Committee The Student Judicial Hearing Committee is convened at the request of students accused of misconduct violations to provide judicial review of disciplinary cases. For more information, contact Michael Kelly, Dean of Students, at M-Kelly2@neiu.edu.
Fall Into Fun Week Planning Committee The Fall Into Fun Week Planning Committee organizes and executes a week-long series of events and activities to kick off the new academic year. Student Awards Ceremony Planning Committee The Student Awards Ceremony Planning Committee coordinates an annual program to recognize students who have been awarded scholarships and tuition waivers during the academic year. Parking Appeals Committee The Parking Appeals Committee is comprised of constituents representing students, staff, and faculty for the purpose of shared governance in the decisions of appealed parking citations. Placement Advisory Committee The Placement Office Advisory Committee serves as an advisory group to the Placement Office and the Vice President for Student Affairs on matters relating to relations with employers and services to students. Student Union Advisory Committee The Student Union Advisory Committee provides advice to the Director of the Student Union on issues related to the policies, procedures, services, and administration of the Student Union building. Commencement Planning Committee The University Events Office chairs the Commencement Coordinating Team. This team is responsible for the arrangements leading up to the Commencement Convocation, for the running of the Commencement, and for the analysis after the ceremony.
