Presentation Options
Presentations Options In order to best accommodate your group, we have provided various presentation options. Please review and select the presentation you desire for your group visit. We have provided recommendations based on the students grade. Presentation length is approximately 50 minutes. Campus tours can follow all presentations except for The Financial Aid Process presentation.
Prospective Student Information Session Recommended for students in 10th-12th grades
This Information Session covers the different programs of study that are available at Northeastern Illinois University, how the admissions process works, and what qualities we are looking for in an applicant.
College Speak 101- Learning the College Lingo Recommended for students in 7th-9th grades
Students attending this session are familiarized with some of the terminology used in preparing for college. They learn about the types of colleges and universities, what to consider when researching colleges, and how to get started with the application process.
Demystifying the NEIU Admissions Process Recommended for students in the 12th grade, and college transfer students
This session covers the application process to Northeastern Illinois University. Students have the opportunity to submit their application, application fee or fee waiver, sealed transcripts, test scores, and any other documents in support of their application for consideration to Northeastern Illinois University. If this presentation is selected, students must attend with official sealed transcripts, either ACT/SAT scores and the application fee of $25 or an application fee waiver through the program liaison or high school counselor. A question & answer session follows the presentation.
Preparation in High School for College Recommended for students in 6th-10th grades
Students attending this session get helpful tips in preparing for college while in middle school or high school. They learn about the different high school programs that help students prepare for college. This session also covers the importance of high school course selection and how it affects college admission and future scholarship opportunities. The Financial Aid Process Recommended for students in 11th-12th grades
Designed for high school students and their parents, this presentation explains the federal and state financial aid process, identifies trusted sources of information, and introduces the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Due to the quantity of information covered in this presentation, a campus tour is not included with this presentation.
