Undergraduate Student-at-Large An undergraduate Student-at-Large (SAL) is an individual who does not wish to pursue a degree at Northeastern Illinois University but wants to take courses for professional or scholarly reasons, personal enrichment, or to take a few courses before deciding whether to apply to a program.
Undergraduate SALs are not admitted to a degree-granting program.
Undergraduate SALs do not qualify for Financial Aid.
Admission Critieria*
Graduated from high school OR satisfactorily completed the GED.
International students are not eligible to apply as a student-at-large unless granted permission by their home institution and through arrangement with the Admissions Processing and Review Office.
Students denied at NEIU as degree seeking applicants are not eligible to be admitted as an SAL.

Grduate Student-at-Large A graduate Student-at-Large (SAL) is an individual who does not wish to pursue a degree at Northeastern Illinois University but wants to take courses for professional or scholarly reasons, personal enrichment, or to take a few courses before deciding whether to apply to a program.
Graduate SALs are not admitted to a degree-granting program. As a non-degree seeking student, graduate SALs have permission to take graduate level classes. However, if later admitted to a degree-granting program, only nine credit hours taken as a graduate SAL may be applied toward the degree at the discretion of the Program.
Graduate SALs are subject to all of the same rules governing degree-seeking graduate students. Graduate SALs must have earned a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Graduate SALs ado not qualify for Financial Aid.
Admission Criteria*
Graduate students-at-large are required to submit official transcript from the college or univesity where their highest degree was awarded.
If your degree was awarded from a college or university outside of the United States, you must submit official transcripts, mark sheets or Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc. (ECE) evaluation. |
