Freshman Admission Requirements
You are a freshmen applicant if you currently attend high school or have graduated from high school or have satisfactorily passed the GED and have never attended a college, university or trade school that is post-high school and you plan to pursue a degree.
You are eligible for admission if you have graduated or will graduate from high school in the year you are applying for and meet the following requirements:

Have graduated or will graduate from high school and rank in the upper half of your graduating class or |

Have a minimum ACT composite score of 19 or higher or a minimum SAT combined score of 890. If the applicant is 21 years of age or older at the time of application, the ACT or SAT is not required, but is recommended or |

Satisfactorily passed the GED and met the minimum ACT or SAT requirements (if under 21 years of age) |
All freshmen must also have completed the following high school subjects:

Four years of English |
| • |
Three years of Mathematics (may include computer programming |
| • |
Three years of Social Science |
| • |
Three years of Natural Science |
| • |
Two years of Fine Arts, Foreign Languages and/or courses in Vocational Education (only one vocational education) |

Advanced Placement Program Although not required for admission, Northeastern Illinois University accepts Advanced Placement examination scores.
Generally, Advanced Placement scores of 4 or higher are granted college credit.
If you have taken an Advanced Placement Exam, you should request that your scores be sent to Northeastern Illinois University, Admissions Office, 5500 N. St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625.
