WHAT'S NEW?
Newsweek Names NEIU the Sixth Best Investment in the U.S.
Northeastern Illinois University has been ranked sixth in the U.S. for Best Investment in Newsweek's annual edition of “College Rankings 2012.” The article indicated only 13 percent of NEIU students graduate with debt and graduates have an average mid-career salary of more than $70,000. To compile the list, Newsweek considered four factors: debt, total cost, financial aid and future earnings. Read the full press release.
NEIU to Construct New El Centro Campus
After more than 40 years of serving students and the community in a leased space, the NEIU El Centro Campus will have a new, permanent home on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Read more
Northeastern received the EPA Green Power Partner Award
Northeastern received the EPA Green Power Partner Award for purchasing 10 percent of its electricity from certified green power sources this year using Green Fee Funds. To learn more about what NEIU is doing with Green Fee Funds click here.
Summer Registration
Summer registration is still in progress. Summer I and IA registrations are open through May 15 and Summer II continues through June 27. College of Education Earns Reaccreditation
Northeastern’s College of Education earned reaccreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Colleges of Teachers Education. All six standards set by NCATE were met by Northeastern including the highest level of recognition in the standard of diversity. Read more.
