Community Worker - Chicago Teachers' Center
Position: Community Worker Chicago Teachers' Center (CTC)
Qualifications:
- One year experience in work related to the job to be performed
Departmental Screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College coursework
- Certification at an Adventure Course/Ropes Course or three years experience in adventure based programs
- Two or more years experience working in Chicago middle schools or high schools with preference given to those with experience with Play for Peace clubs
- Trained and skilled in carrying out motivational interviewing
- Sensitivity and commitment to the needs of families in schools serving low income or limited English proficient communities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Salary: $18.00 per hour
Hours: To Be Announced (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
Appointment: 15%
Responsibilities: This position facilitates adventure-based team building and experiential learning workshops sessions to students, educators and parents; works collaboratively with Program Coordinators or Student Service managers; helps to maintains participant data related to participation in adventure courses; and carry out motivational interviewing with programs students in structured intervention efforts.
