Specialist - Student Center for Science Engagement
Position: Specialist/Program Advisor Student Center for Science Engagement
Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) seeks two (2) full time Advisors for our new Student Center for Science Engagement (SCSE). This grant-supported initiative will provide NEIU students with increased support, mentoring, tutoring, and opportunities for student research through the programs of the Center.
Responsibilities: The advisors will be responsible for providing academic and professional advising and mentoring on a regular basis to incoming and continuing students majoring, or who intend to major, in STEM disciplines. The salary for this full-time, twelve month position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in a STEM discipline or in STEM education, and knowledge of innovative and effective strategies for student learning and success. We seek candidates with experience working with underrepresented groups and low-income and/or first generation students. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
