Assistant Director of Portal and Web Content
Primary Job Function: Provide leadership for all content development aspects of the campus portal and web, including the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for the University Community. Serve as the chief architect of the web/portal content and ensure synthesis of University requirements into realized content.
Major Duties & Responsibilities: Coordinate the development of policies, guidelines and procedures for content development and deployment in the portal in consultation with the NEIUport Team and Web team; Supervise team members responsible for other aspects of web and portal design and content development; Evaluate and plan for deployment of new and evolving applications and content via the portal and web site to enhance functionality in support of the University’s mission; Provide training to content developers on adding content to the portal and web.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree required in a related field (computer science, MIS, web design, IT, library science, etc.) and an MS/MA degree is required. Extensive experience (at least five years) in web design and consulting with diverse groups is required. Experience with conflicting requirements and content architecture for a large organization preferred. Excellent communication skills required as is the ability to interact with diverse personalities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience managing people required. Experience with content management systems (such as Collage) and with portal systems (such as Luminis or Oracle Portal) preferred.
