International Admission Requirements
You are an international applicant if you plan to apply for or are currently in the United States on an F or J visa. You must submit evidence of financial support for tuition, fees and living expenses for one year before an I-20 or DS-2019 can be issued. If granted admission, you must enroll as a full-time, degree seeking student.
You must meet freshmen, transfer or 2nd bachelor's admission requirements, whichever is applicable. See the Freshmen, Transfer or 2nd bachelor's student sections for more information.
In addition, an official TOEFL exam report with a minimum score of 500 (paper) or 173 (computer) or 61 (internet based) is required.
All applicants must file a notarized Northeastern Financial Statement that indicates the sponsor has sufficient funding to support the applicant for the duration of stay in the United States. If you are currently in the United States, a copy of your I-20, visa page, and I-94 is required.
Students with B1/B2 visas must apply as international student applicants.
Once enrolled, students are required to meet with the International Student Advisor (call 773-442-4799) in the Office of International Programs.
