Assistant professor, history, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is an American historian whose research and teaching focus on urban environments, capitalism, and Chicago. He is currently writing a book, Safe Harbor: Space, Nature, and Capitalism on the Chicago Waterfront, and co-authoring an essay titled "Bionic Ballplayers: Risk, Profit, and the Body as Commodity."
