Schedules
Clinical Experiences: Once students have been confirmed at a site, they are required to set up visitation times and days amenable to the cooperating school and teacher/s.
This will require the field experience students to: • be prompt. • check and sign into the office before and after each visit. • call the school, university supervisor, and university if absent. • provide a written schedule for the cooperating teacher and university instructor.
Student Teaching: The above requirements apply with the exception that these students are at the school daily according to the classroom teachers' schedules. Their day will parallel that of the cooperating teacher/s by including any meetings, conferences, extra duties, and any other requirements.
Student teaching assignments begin and end on the dates indicated on the student's official notice of assignment. Students are expected to follow the school calendar of the cooperating school relative to their vacations and school holidays. As stated above, the student teachers are required to attend the same meetings as the teacher to fully provide them with the commitment and requirements of being an entitled teacher. Changes in any dates involve consultation and prior permission of the Coordinator of Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching.
Students are required to present a weekly teaching schedule and school calendar to the university supervisor for planning purposes. This will afford the planning and scheduling of effective visitation by the supervisor.
Note: This does not apply if a work stoppage occurs.
