Professor Deborah Goldgaber
Instructor Office: CBM-140 Telephone: (773) 442-5686 Email: D-Goldgaber@neiu.edu Office Hours (Summer, 2013): Not teaching.
Professor Goldgaber is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Philosophy at Northwestern University where she studies continental philosophy, particularly 20th Century French philosophy and phenomenology. Her primary research interests are in deconstructive theories of meaning, theories of embodied perception, and extended mind. More broadly, she is interested in developing a materialist account of memory ascribable to non-minded systems. She is currently working on completing her dissertation manuscript entitled "The Materiality of the Trace: Deconstruction beyond the "linguistic-turn."
When not philosophizing, Professor Goldgaber can often be found enjoying a play in one of Chicago's many black-box theatres or napping--but never both. She is very pleased to be teaching full-time at NEIU this year and excited to work with such an inclusive and diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
