BiographyRose Sperrazza, clarinetist, maintains an active schedule as a performer and teacher. She is a full-time faculty member at Northeastern Illinois University where she regularly appears as a soloist and a chamber musician. She performs often with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and has also performed with the Chicago Camerata Chamber Ensemble, the Harper Chamber Winds, Opus Three Woodwind Trio, CUBE, and in the Southern Illinois Music Festival www.sifest.com. She was a featured soloist in Tokyo, Japan and her chamber performances have been broadcast on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem” and on Chicago’s WFMT. Sperrazza will be featured with the Cassatt String Quartet www.cassattquartet.com in March of 2007 and is also the founder of the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble at Northeastern Illinois University. She is the former executive director of the International Clarinet Association and holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; the Master of Music Performance from the University of Akron; and the Bachelor of Music from DePaul University. Her primary teachers were Larry Combs, Linda Bartley, David Bell, and William Gasbarro.
