BiographyBassoon instructor, Collin Anderson, is a member of the Elgin and Lake Forest Symphonies. He has also performed with the Grant Park Orchestra, Chicago Opera Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Spoleto Festival (Italy), and the Chicago Symphony’s MusicNOW series.
He is a founding member of Quintet Attacca, the Grand Prize Winner at the 2002 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. They have toured extensively throughout the Midwest and were an ensemble-in-residence at the 2003 Emilia-Romagna Festival in Italy. Quintet Attacca is an ensemble-in-residence at the Music Institute of Chicago.
An active composer, Collin's compositions have been performed by numerous Chicago-area ensembles, as well as the June in Buffalo and Aspen music festivals. He currently teaches bassoon at Harper College, Northeastern Illinois University, and North Park University.
