BiographyAn active freelance musician, clarinetist Christie Miller, has performed with many of Chicagoland's finest ensembles, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Elgin Symphony Orchestra; Madison Symphony (WI); Contemporary Chamber Players; the William Ferris Chorale; DePaul New Music Concerts; Access Contemporary Music; The Music Institute of Chicago’s Four Score Festival; Chicago Clarinet Ensemble; and Fulcrum Point New Music Project. She also performs regularly as an ensemble member (and artistic director) of the CUBE ensemble, and as a member of the Palomar Ensemble. Christie has also performed as a soloist in Europe and Cuba, and has appeared on several broadcasts of WFMT 98.7 FM's "Live from Studio One" program. As a student, her principal teacher was Larry Combs.
Christie is the Director of the Office of Cultural Events at Northeastern Illinois University and serves as an adjunct instructor teaching in the Department of Music and Dance.
