BiographyProfessor Emeritus, Allen Anderson, has taught at Northeastern Illinois University for the past 45 years. In addition to his teaching, Dr. Anderson has been active in the Chicago area as a solo performer, accompanist and chamber musician. His performances have been heard on WFMT 98.7 FM, and he has appeared in concert at the Dame Myra Hess Series from the Chicago Cultural Center and the Jewel Box Series at Northeastern Illinois University on several occasions.
Dr. Anderson was a scholarship student while at Juilliard where he studied piano with Irwin Freundlich, and chamber music with members of the renowned Juilliard String Quartet. He was a teaching fellowship recipient in piano at the University of Illinois.
His other principal piano teachers were Carlisle Floyd and Harold Berlinger.
