Degrees and Programs
The Department of Music and Dance offers courses leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Teacher Certification.
Undergraduate programs are available in:
- Performance: vocal and instrumental
- K-12 Music Education: vocal and instrumental
- Applied Music Pedagogy: vocal and instrumental
Minors are available in:
- Individualized Music Minor
- Music Education for Elementary Education Majors
- Individualized Dance Minor
Teacher Certification Program is available to students who already have an earned Bachelor’s degree. For program requirements, visit the College of Education.

All prospective music students must audition to be accepted into the music program. Sasha will be happy to answer any audition and program related questions once you have submitted an online form by following the link above.
The Department of Music hosts the Dance Program and offers a minor in dance. Contact the Dance Program Coordinator, Dr. Venetia Stifler, for information about the dance program, scheduling a campus visit or arranging your audition. All prospective dance minor candidates must demonstrate sufficient technical ability through an audition before obtaining the coordinator’s approval for the total dance program. Dr. Stifler will be happy to answer any audition and program related questions once you have contacted her.
