Photographs and Video by Sheree Hovsepian March 9 - April
6, 2007

Using the widely discussed transition of Pluto from a planet to a pluton as a
catalyst, The Death of Pluto is an exploration of what we know or, at least,
what we think we know. Sheree Hovsepian's exquisite photographs and video,
however, depict images of family members. The juxtaposition of family, those who
are closest to us, with the recent demotion of Pluto urges us to question our
ability to truly know someone or something and to contemplate how our
understanding can change over time.
An opening reception for the artist will be held on Friday March 9th
from 6-9pm. Sheree Hovsepian will be discussing her work on Tuesday
March 13th from 1:30 - 3:00pm. All gallery events are free and open to the
public. *The university will be closed from March 19th through March 23rd.
Please call to make an appointment.
