NEIU Alum and Documentary Subject Named Executive Director of YMCA Program
Eduardo “Eddie” Bocanegra (BA Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Work 2012) has been appointed
Executive Director of Youth Safety and Violence Prevention at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.
Bocanegra’s personal story and his work as a conflict mediator for CeaseFire were featured in the
award-winning 2011 documentary, The Interrupters, which had a special screening at NEIU in fall 2011.
