Illinois Articulation Initiative - Northeastern Illinois University is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), a statewide agreement that allows transfer of the completed Illinois General Education Core Curriculum between participating institutions. Transfer of College Credit: Beginning with admission to the Fall 1993 semester, students graduating with an approved ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) Model A.A. or A.S. degree prior to transferring will be granted junior standing and will have fulfilled Northeastern Illinois University?s General Education requirements. Please refer to university catalog for further information.
Community College work: A maximum of 60 semester hours will be accepted in transfer from a community college and used toward graduation. Students who have completed more than 60 hours at a community college will only have 60 hours reflected on the NEIU transcript. Please refer to university catalog for further information.
Senior College work: A maximum of 90 semester hours is counted toward graduation. Students who have completed more than 90 hours will only have 90 hours reflected on the NEIU transcript. Please refer to university catalog for further information.
Transfer Advising: If you are currently enrolled in classes at another institution, please bring a list of course titles and course numbers or an unofficial transcript to your advisor meeting
**If you are transferring less than 60 credit hours or are undecided as to your major, you should meet with an advisor in the Academic Advisement Center, D-130.
**If you have earned an A.A. or an A.S. degree and have already decided upon your major, we urge you to meet with an advisor in your intended major department as listed below.
