Trombonist Luis Bonilla to Perform with NEIU Varsity Big Band
WHAT: As part of the Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) Performing Arts Series, jazz trombonist Luis Bonilla will perform with NEIU’s Varsity Big Band. This Costa Rican trombonist, composer and arranger is known as a prominent force in the New York and international jazz and Latin scenes.
This performance will be free and open to the public.

DETAILS: Currently a member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra, Bonilla has worked and performed with such musical greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Lester Bowie, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Bennett, Marc Anthony, Paquito d’Rivera, and Mary J. Blige.
