Greek America: Cultural and Global Change
WHAT: Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) will host a conference titled “Centers of Globalization: Greek America — An Interdisciplinary Approach.” Drawing from leaders in education, business and the arts at the local, national and international levels, the conference will address important global and cultural changes in identities, marriage and family, language, education, work life, and creative expressions of Greeks and Greek Americans. Through performance, film, art, and lecture, this conference will highlight topics like “Global Ideas from Classic Greek Theater” and “Immigration and Greek Film” and discuss issues like “Greek Americans in Business” and “Greek American Schooling and Bilingualism.” For complete program information call (773) 442-4774.
